I am leaving over the weekend as you all know with mixed feelings, but determined to do what is best for for the UN. Conscious of the many pitfalls, of, of my own ignorance and of the security Council’s mandate ambiguities.

Certainly aware of my duty towards the cause that my human right job embodies hence my staff all those I am accountable to (which is why I agreed with the secretary General that the assignment will not exceed four months)

That my personal life again comes last*, yet energized and inspired by Carolina**.

I shall count on your friendship and supportive vibes.

* The hearing for his Divorce was held in France on May 23rd, declaring his Legal Separation from his first wife, and a 3 month wait time for the divorce to be final.
** I had accepted to accompany him to Iraq, arriving there a fortnight later
